The making of this image of a coyote going about its business in a very determined manner is known in photography as a fortunate accident. I had been shooting in a different direction when his movement caught the corner of my eye, and as I spun about I only had time to make this one picture. As luck would have it, the settings on my camera were correct, and my movement along with his caused a perfect blend of the blurred and the focused. It would be difficult if not impossible to recreate this combination on command.
