Sometimes when you least expect it, you see something that just takes your breath away and you know again why it is you do what you do. That was the case as I was driving home late in the afternoon, thinking about supper and tired from the day's activities. Bull elk were feeding in the Gibbon Meadows as the last rays of the sun backlit them, casting a silhouette I can still see when I close my eyes. So, tired as I was, I stopped, set up my gear and got this last shot of the day.
