Bald Eagles waiting for the morning sun

Bosque del Apache is also home to other birds such as these Bald Eagles. Two of them have spent the night in this snag out in the middle of the pond and are just responding to the morning sun. As the sun rises above the horizon the light changes into a beautiful deep orange color. The pond is still frozen because the temperature dropped well below freezing over night.
