Blue and Gold - Great Blue Heron in the afternoon
Great blue herons can be seen throughout the refuge and this one in particular drew a crowd with its stately demeanor and grace under fire, as it were. There were probably 20 -25 photographers taking its picture and it posed and preened until everyone had their share of photos. Towards the end of the session it got a little grumpy as one of the photographers got a little too close and was warned back with a baleful glare. When it had had enough from the heronparatzi it slowly flew away.
