Glide Pattern - Sandhill Cranes

Sandhill cranes have a unique style of flying. They seem very purposeful and determined as they travel. It is their no nonsense approach to getting the job done that distinguishes them from other birds. They display this attitude in all aspects of their flying. When they take off, they lean slightly forward, choosing their destination with a long stare, then quickly run a few steps and lift off. They fly in straight lines, making course corrections in gentle curves and when they land, they glide in like a 747 to flare up suddenly at the exact spot they want to be, making a perfect two point landing.
