Faces of Paris

Faces of Paris is a series within a series of the total images from France where I found interesting faces and people and wanted to include them in my presentation.

La Rouquin - I do not speak French. My wife speaks French, half the people I meet speak French, but I do not. This may be the second of my great failings as a photographer. So if you see a French title or phrase attached to one of my pictures it was certainly provided by a helpful French speaking person and if I have made a perfect fool of myself by saying something completely inappropriate I will take responsibility for it, but you know deep down in your heart that it is really not my fault.

This is probably one of my favorite images from the entire trip. I say probably because I will see another image and say it my favorite also, in fact I will probably say that about every picture here. It may be inconsistent but I mean well.

There is something about this woman. She is so totally lost in thought and oblivious to her surroundings, so pensive that I wanted to walk up to her and ask her what she was thinking about. I didn't of course, and I don't want you too, either. But then that's what this reflecting pool business is all about, a place to stop and get your thoughts together, to find some calmness and hopefully continue on with a fresh outlook.

La Rouquin means " The Redhead"
