Faces of Paris

Faces of Paris is a series within a series of the total images from France where I found interesting faces and people and wanted to include them in my presentation.

Pensive woman

One of the things I noticed about Paris was that there seemed to be a tremendous dynamic tension between the old and the new. There would be old buildings built using part of a roman wall for support, or a new cafe set amongst the ruins of an old church. It seemed everywhere you looked there was the old and new coexisting with each other in a delicate harmony. This included the people too, of course, and one of the most memorable examples of it was seeing this woman standing still and quiet, perhaps waiting for a bus, seemingly oblivious to the nearly frantic action of the younger population of the city trying to get home for the evening.
