Faces of Paris is a series within a series of the total images from France where I found interesting faces and people and wanted to include them in my presentation.

France 101 - Sometimes a lonely thought

In the background of this image you can see several people having what was a rather noisy, festive get together with music playing and people coming and going from the group excitedly. They seemed to be generally having a good time, and it seemed to fit in with what was happening on the street. It made you want to go over there and see what was going on and maybe even join in. But apparently not everyone felt that way. There was one man, separate from everyone else, someone who was on the outside of things and did not fit in, either by choice or circumstance, an island of loneliness in the midst of fun and friendship. Not being able to help, we passed by. I think of him sometimes, hoping that things got better for him.
