Sculpture 022 text

Slick is a river otter and is the very first piece of sculpture I ever created. I did this study when the oil freighter Valdez went down in Prince William sound. All of the wildlife that was affected by this disaster was being shown in every media. There was talk that the sound was never going to be the same again. An image of a sea otter caught my attention and this piece was the result. The unusual patina is oil colored and the expression on his face tells the story of how he felt about this change in his life. View 1.
